1 WARN 102355 Jeep JL OE Rubicon Front Bumper Grille Guard Tube – Best Gladiator JT Jeep Bumper
The first Jeep bumper we are going to look at comes from Warn Industries. This is a low-height bumper that will fit the 2018 to 2019 Wrangler JL and the 2019 to 2021 Gladiator JT.
Easy to install…
Warn has crafted this grill guard to bolt directly onto your factory steel bumper. You will not need to modify your factory bumper by drilling or cutting into it at all. It features a 2-inch steel tube that has been powder-coated black. With this on your Jeep, you can mount a lightbar or a winch on to it with ease.
The overall look of it is pretty low-profile, in our opinion. Your Jeep will look more rugged without adding too much weight to the front end since this bumper only weighs 11 pounds.
Not quite as robust as we would have hoped…
The powder coating that is on this bumper is supposed to protect it from rusting over time. However, we found this to be a bit hit or miss. Along the central 2-inch steel tube, we never had a problem with any rust forming at all. But, we did experience a bit of rust starting to form around the welding points, unfortunately.
There was not much, but it did leave us a bit concerned, nonetheless. Fortunately, this Jeep bumper comes with a one-year limited warranty, so you should be fine for at least that long.
- Bolts directly onto your factory steel bumper.
- Can mount a winch or light bar onto it.
- Compatible with the 2021 Jeep Gladiator JT.
- The powder-coating could be more resistant to rust.
2 Smittybilt 76810 XRC Front Bumper for Jeep Cherokee XJ – Best Premium Jeep Bumper
If you own a Jeep Cherokee from 1981 to 2001, this next bumper from Smittybilt might just be the right one for you. Their 76810 XRC bumper is made from 3/16-inch cold rolled steel and has 1.75-inch tubing.
Steel that has been cold rolled can be up to 20% stronger than your average steel. Smittybilt has also robotically welded this bumper to meet very precise specifications. The 76810 also features a 2-stage textured matte black powder-coated finish. Smittybilt is so confident in the powder-coat finish that is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Once you take off your stock bumper, you can bolt this directly into the mounting holes provided on your frame.
With this mounted on your Jeep, you will notice a few pre-drilled holes on the 76810 XRC bumper. The first set of holes along the central steel tube allow you to mount up to a 9-inch light bar.
You will notice an integrated winch plate that can accommodate up to a 12,000 lb. winch. There are also a couple more holes on the very front of the bumper, allowing you to mount another light bar or secure your winch hook.
This bumper definitely stands out on your Jeep Cherokee. Due to the exceptional build quality, it does come at a more premium price, though.
- The bumpers corners have been raised, allowing for better clearance.
- You can mount a 12,000 lb. winch to it.
- The included D-rings have been welded on both sides.
3 Rampage Products 88625 Textured Black Double Tube Front Bumper with Light Pod and Stinger – Best Off Roading Jeep Bumper
Some of the Best Bumpers for your Jeep currently on the market are more suitable for off-roading than others. This 3-inch double tube bumper from Rampage is a prime example.
The large upper tube features a stinger design that angles away from the grill of your Jeep. This adds a bit of safety to your Jeep, whether you are driving to the grocery store or off-roading. It will protect your grill, radiator, and engine from collisions, no matter the terrain.
It is manufactured from steel and then coated in zinc before being powder-coated in two stages and ends up having a grippy textured feel to it.
This is another bumper that is made to fit on Jeep Wranglers JL’s from 2018 to 2021, as well as the 2021 Gladiator.
Depending on the trim level of your Jeep, it may include fog lights. On the bottom of this Rampage bumper, you will notice two cut-outs to accommodate your stock fog lights. You will want to install your fog lights before mounting the bumper to your vehicle. This is where you might run into a bit of trouble, though.
Some modifications needed for 3-bolt designs…
The mounting holes available are compatible with JL model wranglers with fog lights that have a 4-bolt design. Unfortunately, some JL’s have a 3-bolt design fog light that will only fit if you trim out the mounting hole and drill an additional hole.
After your fog lights are mounted, the rest of the installation process is pretty straightforward. You will need to use the included brackets, and then everything should bolt together perfectly.
- Steel 3-inch tubing is very robust.
- Includes a mounting bracket for your fog lights.
- The stinger design will help prevent your vehicle from rolling over.
- Installation could be less time consuming, and modifications may be required.
4 Rugged Ridge 11542.02 All Terrain Modular Front Bumper for Jeep Wrangler – Most Versatile Jeep Bumper
If you are in need of an all-terrain bumper for any Jeep Wrangler from 2007 to 2015, Rugged Ridge has you covered.
Rugged Ridge crafts this bumper from 3mm steel and then powder-coats it for protection. The overall result is an extremely low-profile bumper that looks pretty basic at first glance.
Once you bolt this on to your Jeep’s existing mounting points, you will notice quite a few pre-drilled holes on offer. This allows this bumper to have a modular design to it. You will find two sets of four holes split by a removable steel cover along the top of this bumper that allow you to mount a stinger bar or a light bar.
If you remove the steel cover, you will find a space to mount a winch. However, you will need a compatible bracket since one is not included. Below that, you have two cut-outs that are compatible with your stock fog lights. There are also D-ring holes on either side of the bumper, as well.
Practical and versatile…
You can even remove the included D-ring brackets, allowing for even further mounting points. Lastly, you will find an additional set of holes at the very bottom of the bumper that can easily accommodate another lightbar.
While this Rugged Bumper might allow you to customize it in numerous ways, it doesn’t come cheap. This is the most expensive bumper in this roundup, and it does not even come with D-rings, which leaves us asking ourselves whether it is worth the cost? But if customization and the ability to change just about any configuration in the future is important to you, it definitely is!
- Modular design makes it easy to customize.
- Incredibly low-profile design.
- Mounts on all Wrangler models from 2007 to 2015.
- Neither a winch plate nor D-rings are included.
5 Nilight Front Bumper w/Winch Plate, 72W Nilight LED light bar – Best Jeep Wrangler JL Bumper
The final Jeep bumper we are going to look at comes from Nilight and fits on Jeep Wrangler JL’s from 2018 to 2019. Unlike the other bumpers we have looked at, this one features a bar with rectangular tubing.
Built for off-roading…
The rest of this Jeep bumper is manufactured from 5/23-inch sheet steel. It is laser welded and then electro-galvanized and powder-coated for extreme protection against rust.
It has an easy bolt-on design that requires no modifications to your frame, and only a few standard hand tools are needed.
Got a winch that you would like to mount to the bumper?
Nilight makes it easy to do, thanks to the integrated winch plate. Not only that, but you will also find a lightbar and two smaller lights included with this bumper! The included lightbar mounts directly under the steel rectangular tubing, while the two smaller lights mount on each end of the bumper.
This Nilight bumper not only looks aggressive but is one of the most durable products we have looked at. If you want an all-in-one bumper, light kit, and winch kit for a Wrangler JL, this Nilight product will not disappoint.
- A 72W LED light bar, and two 18W lights are included.
- License plate relocation mount also comes provided.
- Quite easy to install.
- After-sales service could be better.
Best Jeep Bumpers Buying Guide
Buying the best bumper for your Jeep is not as easy as just picking whichever one looks the best. Depending on your Jeep model, some bumpers will fit, and some will not.
Fortunately, all bumper manufacturers will state the compatibility requirements for their bumpers. However, we would still recommend measuring and checking the mounting hole pattern of YOUR Jeep just to make sure.
All of the high-quality Jeep Bumpers we have looked at are made from steel. However, the thickness, as well as the type of steel used, can vary.
Once the bumper has been welded together, the manufacturer will then protect it from rust by powder-coating it, unless you go for a stainless steel or chrome bumper, of course. This powder-coating process will usually be done in multiple layers to make the bumper rust-resistant.
If you are going to be going off-road, you will want to make sure that your bumper can handle any bumps or bruises you may throw at it. Some bumpers are even designed to stop the Jeep from rolling over.
Not only will a bumper add protection, but it can also allow you to mount other things to it. You will commonly find bumpers that have pre-drilled holes for mounting light bars, for example. They may also have a spot allocated for a winch plate. However, you will be limited to how large a winch you can mount on to the bumper safely.
Some bumpers even include cut-outs for either your stock or aftermarket fog lights to sit in. Not all Jeeps have the same type of fog lights, so you may find yourself having to drill into the cut-out for them to secure correctly.
Now that you have considered the bumper’s durability as well as the ability to mount things to it, we should talk about the installation process. As mentioned, bumper sizes will vary and will not fit every model Jeep. However, bumper manufacturers usually make installing their bumpers a very easy task to complete.
They will frequently have a bolt-on design that requires no modification, cutting, or drilling for it to fit onto your Jeep’s frame. You may have to take off your stock bumper entirely, depending on the design of your aftermarket bumper.
To remove or install a bumper, you will usually need to have a socket wrench, a pry tool, and a standard wrench on hand. All of the necessary nuts, bolts, washers, as well as instructions will come with your new bumper. We would also recommend using gloves and safety glasses just to be on the safe side!

So, what are the Best Jeep Bumpers?
It was not an easy decision to make, but the winner of this Best Bumper for Jeep roundup goes to the…
This looks rugged without being bulky, in our opinion. The steel it is crafted from is top-notch and extremely durable; therefore, it will take much more than a fender bender to damage this beast of a bumper.
It even comes with an integrated winch plate as well as an LED light bar and lights. Installation is also about as easy as it gets, thanks to its bolt-on design.
However, you will need to own a 2018 or 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL to use this bumper. If you are lucky enough to have that model Jeep in your garage, this bumper will be a perfect addition to it.
