1 Spytec GL300 4G LTE Mini Real-Time GPS Tracker

Hidden track.

First up, we have this compact tracker from Spytec. With real-time GPS tracking, we can easily keep tabs of our motorcycle.

Using 4G technology, we receive accurate location data to almost any device we choose. Plus, with SMS or email alerts, we will never lose touch with our prized possession. It’s a simple, convenient way of keeping an eye on the bike.

Its diminutive size means we can conceal this easily under the seat. And with impressive battery life, we can leave it there for over two weeks before it needs a charge.

But wait! There’s more…

This tiny tracker offers many options. We can set map perimeters and receive alerts when the tracker crosses the boundaries. Other features include historical tracking data lasting up to a year! This data reveals the start and endpoints of our journeys, including travel time and distance.

And the best bit? This data is not stored by the GPS platform! So, there are no worries about our personal data or privacy.

So, what’s the catch?

Well, to begin with, this does not offer route planning or navigation. Prone to getting lost? If you need help with directions when out and about, this is not for you. Another downside is the monthly subscription. It isn’t cheap! Use this tracker long-term, and the costs will start building up.

But it gets the job done! A great way to begin our search for the best motorcycle tracker!

Spytec GL300 4G LTE Mini Real-Time GPS Tracker

Our rating:4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

2 MOTOsafety GPS Tracker for Vehicles – Best All Round Motorcycle GPS Tracker

Track and trace.

Here we have another concealable GPS tracker. It fits snugly under our motorcycle seat, safe from detection. This connects via an OBD port, which means that it’s easy to install and, and there are no worries about battery charge.

But be warned! Some older or smaller bikes don’t have this feature. So, check for compatibility before purchase!

So, should we consider this choice?

As with most trackers, we can easily connect through a smartphone or other device, and receive instant alerts. But what sets this tracker apart, are the myriad of other functions it provides.

For a start, it has geo-fencing capabilities! Now, geo-fencing might sound complicated, but don’t worry! It’s actually really simple.

So, what is it?

Basically, we can use the app or website to create zones. When the tracker travels in or out of the zone, we get a notification. It’s perfect for making sure whoever is riding the bike doesn’t stray too far, especially if it’s a troublesome teenager!

And we can assign curfew hours too. Parent to a troublesome teenager? No problem, the app lets us know when the motorcycle is being ridden after a set time.

And there’s more!

We can monitor unsafe riding, from harsh braking to speedy starts. All this data can coach us to ride in a safer manner. We receive a daily report card that will score our riding performance, report our daily routes, and even inform us when any unsafe riding has occurred.

These extra features can reduce insurance premiums. And that’s something we all want, isn’t it? Plus, they provide peace of mind to any nervous parents out there with younger, less experienced bikers.

Is there a downside?

Again, this GPS tracker is not designed for navigation or planning our journeys. It’s focused on safety and recovery. But thanks to all those bonuses, it sure soothes a worried soul!

MOTOsafety GPS Tracker for Vehicles

Our rating:3.9 out of 5 stars (3.9 / 5)

Pros

  • Easy installation.
  • No battery needed.
  • Incredible range of features.

Cons

  • Not suitable for all motorcycles.
  • No navigation function.

3 Amcrest 4G LTE GPS Tracker – Best Small Motorcycle GPS Tracker

Pocket rocket.

Sleek and stylish, our next item is a diminutive option. At just 1 by 3 by 1.5 inches, it slips unobtrusively into a pocket or bag, barely taking up any space.

Featuring a user-friendly interface, this tracker sends information either via an app or website. We can receive push alerts, oversee activity, and produce reports. We can even make links to share with others.

Our favorite aspect of this tracker?

It has to be those geo-fencing capabilities! Don’t want the bike traveling too far? Simply create an area that it must stay in. If the bike leaves the zone, a push notification is sent straight to us.

And even better, we can have more than one zone at a time. In fact, we can create up to 20 at once! So, there’s no need to keep deleting them to make space for new ones.

Priced by the number of updates…

As with most GPS trackers, we need to sign up to a subscription service to use it. But unlike others, we get a choice of prices. We can pay different amounts, depending on how often we want to tracker to update, from every five seconds all the way up to every 60 seconds.

It’s worth noting that this product will only work with 4G. Yes, we know most cities have 4G these days! But out in the wilderness with 2G coverage, this tracker is no good.

And more thing: it comes with a lifetime warranty. With a bit of luck, we’d never need to buy another tracker again!

Amcrest 4G LTE GPS Tracker

Our rating:4.2 out of 5 stars (4.2 / 5)

Pros

  • Creates multiple geo-fencing zones.
  • Range of subscriptions.
  • Lifetime warranty.

Cons

  • 4G compatible only.

4 GPS Tracker – Optimus 2.0 Bundle with Twin Magnet Case

Magnetic aesthetic.

One concern we always have with trackers is whether it will stay attached to the bike. Yes, we know we can pop it in the panniers or top box. But what if we don’t ride with luggage?

Well, good news! This product will stay firmly clamped under the gas tank in all conditions! But how?

With neodynamic magnets, of course!

These are some of the most powerful magnets around. The tracker sits inside the case and clings firmly against the steel of the bike. And even better, we get not just one, but two magnets, for extra security.

And another great aspect of that case? It is watertight. The tracker will stay well protected, even in inclement weather.

Easy to manage…

With a flat monthly subscription fee, we don’t experience any hidden costs. Don’t need the tracker anymore? No worries! It cost nothing to cancel, and we don’t have to sign a contract.

This product reports movement with a default frequency of once a minute. We’d probably prefer a tracker to send data a little more often. But luckily for us, that setting can be changed, and we can get reports up to every 10 seconds instead!

Speed king…

Not only does the tracker let us know where the bike is, but it also sends data about speed. If the motorcycle exceeds the speed limit, a push alert is sent to our phone or email. If you’re worried about a reckless or irresponsible rider, this is an awesome asset to have.

Of course, there’s a downside. There always is, isn’t there?

And here it’s the battery. It just doesn’t last long enough. We’d need to change it pretty often. We’d rather have a tracker that uses less power or has a larger battery.

But, if you have time to keep changing the battery, this is a decent option. And we do get some awesome features for a very reasonable price.

GPS Tracker - Optimus 2.0 Bundle with Twin Magnet Case

Our rating:4.6 out of 5 stars (4.6 / 5)

Pros

  • Super strong magnets.
  • Adjustable report frequency.

Cons

  • Short battery life.

5 Garmin Zumo 595LM – Best Motorcycle GPS Tracker for Adventures

Back on the right track.

A change of pace for our list of the best quality motorcycle GPS trackers now! Instead of keeping an eye on the bike from a distance, our next product is designed for orientation. No more getting lost, this item knows exactly where we are!

With a massive 5-inch screen, we get a clear, unrestricted view of the map. It’s both sunlight-readable and water-resistant, making it easy to see, whatever the weather. And even better, this touch-sensitive display is compatible with motorcycle gloves.

Need some advice? Who doesn’t!

Not only can we plan routes with this device, it actually offers us advice! Avoiding those boring highways, it will find adventurous routes with hills and steep twists. And with continually up-dated maps, it suggests points of interest on the way.

As well as advice, it also gives us warnings. No one likes running into unexpected speed cameras or crossings! This tracker lets us know when to expect them, giving us ample time to slow down.

Enjoy music as you ride?

Using an MP3 player or smartphone, we can control what we’re listening to from the display. We can also make phone calls, using the Bluetooth capability. And it to stay in touch, it will show text messages and other notifications as we’re riding.

But, all these awesome features come at a price. This tracker is eye-wateringly expensive! It’s certainly not an option for the budget-conscious rider!

Quality comes at a cost…

However, we do get what we pay for. This is a seriously awesome GPS tracker and would make an ideal solution for any adventure rider.

Garmin Zumo 595LM

6 Garmin Montana 680t – Best Geo Caching Motorcycle GPS Tracker

Star track.

Our penultimate tracker is one for those who enjoy a mystery! With this item, we can discover the joys of geocaching!

What is geo-caching?

Well, sit back, relax, and we’ll fill you in. Geo-caching is an outdoor scavenger hunt, where participants follow GPS coordinates to find a hidden container. What’s inside? Who cares! The point of the game is the thrill of searching, not what we find at the end.

This tracker comes preloaded with 250,00 geocache locations! You’ll never be bored again! It gives us a chance to explore new parts of the country and adds a fun, treasure hunt element to our ride.

A bird’s eye view…

Aside from that, this is a pretty accurate item for finding our way. Using Hotfix satellite technology and a WAAS-enabled receiver, it will pinpoint exactly where we are and maintains our position. And included is a one-year satellite imagery subscription, offering us a birds-eye view of the terrain ahead.

It’s handy for planning routes in advance, too. It allows us to plot, and store a number of different routes, keeping them well-organized for future reference. And it also records the ride, logging the trip so we can look back over our journey.

Is it the cheapest GPS tracker out there?

No. But it’s not the most expensive either, and with this product, we get major bang for our buck.

And we couldn’t finish this review without mentioning the camera. With 8 megapixels and automatic geo-tagging, it gives us exactly what we need. No more awkwardly fumbling about, searching for our phone!

Garmin Montana 680t

7 TomTom Rider 550 Motorcycle GPS Navigation Device, 4.3 Inch, with Motorcycle Specific Winding – Most Accurate GPS Tracker

One track mind.

The final item in our search for the best GPS tracker for your motorcycle is this product from TomTom. We’ve all heard of TomTom! Since 2004, they’ve been selling satellite navigation devices using their precision location technology.

With the Mydrive feature, we can plan the perfect ride. Search for roads with exhilarating twists and hills, and the tracker will plan the ideal route for you. It even has different degrees of windiness and incline, depending on our level of expertise.

And that’s not all!

For accuracy, this tracker is superb. Thanks to its Quad-core processor, it operates with incredibly quickly, with no buffering or waiting for the data to upload. In fact, the GPS speed is up to five times faster than other models, giving it a real edge over many trackers out there.

At 4.3 inches, the screen is small but still readable. Bright enough to see in strong sunlight, it gives us a clear view of the map. And it’s compatible with motorcycle gloves, so we won’t need to stop and remove them.

There are some amazing features here! It’s up to date, shares data about potential hazards (and speed cameras!), and it’s waterproof too.

But it’s not all positive. There are a couple of things we don’t like…

The functions are what we’d expect from any GPS navigation tracker these days. It’s a bit simple for the price. Come on, TomTom; we want a few bells and whistles too!

And, call us shallow, but it looks pretty basic too. Sure, it’s functional, but we want a tracker that looks cool too!

Best Motorcycle GPS Tracker Buyers Guide

Best Motorcycle GPS Tracker

We’ve taken a look at a really wide range of options here. But it’s so difficult to choose! So, how do you decide on which is the best GPS tracker for your motorbike?
Well, for a start, what are we concerned about?
Tracing the bike or navigation? Different trackers obviously suit different needs.

If it’s the former, then a GPS system that offers fast updating is paramount. We need to know where the bike is, and we need to know now! There’s not much point in a tracker that offers slow or irregular updates.

If we’re only thinking about theft, then we don’t need much more than that! But if we want to keep an eye on the rider, it’s a good idea to have geo-fencing. And a curfew function might be wise too, for younger riders with concerned parents!

Plus, it also nice to have…

Those extra features, such as riding reports, which are a real boon too. After all, no one is perfect! We can always improve, and this function can help us do so, as well as positively affecting insurance premiums.

It’s unlikely that we’ll find a good motorcycle GPS tracker with no monthly fee. Sorry, but we have to pay for the good stuff! So, look for a subscription that isn’t too expensive, without compromising on quality.

For navigation, we need a decent route planner…

At a minimum, we want to be able to search for, share, and upload trips. And as a bonus, we’d like it to offer points of interest or suggest particular roads that suit our riding style.

The display should be big enough to read without appearing overwhelming. We should be able to use it without taking off our gloves. And we want to be able to see it clearly, whether in bright sunlight or pouring rain.

And if it warns us about hazards, we’ll be very happy!

Motorcycle riding is dangerous, so advice regarding upcoming crossings or bridges can be imperative! And for those speed demons, it’s nice to get warnings when there are speed cameras ahead!

And no matter what we’re using the tracker to do, we want decent battery life. There’s nothing more annoying than unexpectedly running out of juice. Ideally, we want to use it for about two weeks before needing to charge.

Choosing the best motorbike GPS tracker is not an easy task! So, hopefully, this guide has made what to look for, a bit clearer.
